Stolt Tankers have signed a SMART Maintenance Agreement with NSSLGlobal. Stolt Tankers operates one of the world’s largest fleet of chemical tankers, providing high-quality global transportation services for bulk-liquid chemicals, edible oils, acids and clean petroleum products. This contract will see NSSLGlobal supporting Stolt Tankers on a global basis across its key trading routes including the provision of surveys to bridge navigation and communication systems onboard Stolt Tanker’s fleet of tankers.
Leveraging NSSLGlobal’s strategic partnerships with a wide range of equipment manufacturers, alongside its global service capability including critical spare part stores and an experienced “Follow the Sun” Service Co-ordination and Engineering team, NSSLGlobal will assume the responsibility for the technical service management of critical bridge navigation and communication systems across the Stolt Tanker Fleet. NSSLGlobal will also be providing Stolt Tankers with access to its renowned INSIGHT portal, a web-based tool with an automated module for managing service renewal dates and equipment audits and certification across the company’s fleet, thereby increasing visibility and optimising vessel availability.
“Stolt Tankers needed a partner that could not only provide the expertise and flexibility to meet our specific requirements, but also demonstrate the ability to manage such a large undertaking on a global scale. NSSLGlobal’s understanding of our business and the ability to meet our needs with dedicated personnel and spare parts across different port locations shows its commitment and ability to provide the resources needed, and we look forward to working closely in this partnership with them,” comments Sean Crowley, Stolt Tankers.
NSSLGlobal’s SMART maintenance agreements are an increasingly popular offering and are one of the key portfolio services provided by NSSLGlobal enabling vessel operators of all sizes the freedom to select from a scalable package of engineering support. With over 50 years’ experience in maritime and satcom engineering services backed up by a global presence across 13 locations worldwide, NSSLGlobal specialises in the servicing and repair of all on-board navigation and communications systems. The company’s highly skilled engineers and technical service coordinators offer full support and more – with 24/365 technical support – guaranteeing that all vessels in the Stolt Tanker fleet will receive the highest level of service.
“The announcement is a natural development of the existing long-term relationship between NSSLGlobal and Stolt Tankers in which NSSLGlobal’s service engineering department has proven its capabilities to provide the highest levels of support and performance that Stolt are looking for. To be selected as the chosen partner for the long-term supply of NavCom maintenance services is fantastic news. Both Stolt Tankers and NSSLGlobal worked together to put a bespoke package in place that will not only take care of their service needs now but will ensure Stolt have their long-term service requirements covered for the future.” comments Paul Rutherford, Group Service Engineering Director, NSSLGlobal.
NSSLGlobal’s SMART Maintenance plans were launched into the Maritime Industry at the end of 2021 for customers that want to increase their predictability in their annual maintenance spend. The plans provide customers with an integrated offering of communication and marine bridge electronics as well as onboard maintenance services designed to guarantee the highest levels of onboard safety and compliance whilst providing operational and environmental efficiencies.
