NSSLGlobal wins major contract to provide satcom for Germany’s Federal Office for Civil Protection (BBK)

NSSLGlobal, a leading independent full-service project engineering, satcom and systems integrator is providing satellite communications services and technology to Germany’s Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (Bundesamt für Bevӧlkerungsshutz und Katastrophenhilfe, or BBK). NSSLGlobal is a trusted supplier to the German Bundeswehr and local civil administrative departments for their management and delivery of critical crisis communications.

NSSLGlobal will provide the 24/7 connectivity, hardware and technical support that BBK teams need when operating in extreme conditions to protect Germany. Portable satcom is the key to secure, rapid communications and the command and control of dispersed, small units, avoiding the delays and interruptions to terrestrial infrastructure that often accompany emergencies.

Providing voice and data communications, NSSLGlobal will enable operators to pass vital information to decision-makers and those at the operational face at critical times. In addition, the BBK will use NSSLGlobal’s INSIGHT business management portal, to provide users real time information on all interactions, for comprehensive monitoring, control and alerting along with provision of data records.
