Government Sales Manager

About the role:

We are seeking to fill a new position for a Defence Sales Manager with our team in Germany, where some 40 people work from the overall 250 across the NSSLGlobal Group. This presents an exciting new opportunity to be part of a growing organisation. Using your defence and sales experience to generate growth from existing clients as well as look for new opportunities primarily in the defence market. This is an essential key role in the company’s business, building on the growth in customer demands and our success in the market. The role will help an individual develop their sales career as well as offer a very interesting integral position within the business with an opportunity to make the role rewarding for a hardworking enthusiastic individual.

You should bring experience of defence and/or government use cases and/or experience selling to these key customers along with the personality, professionality, flexibility and market knowledge to be effective. We would expect you to have some relevant experience in satellite communication and/or related information services for forces users, including where possible with specialist units and/or wider army units and/or some experience of new capabilities such as uncrewed platforms.

You will need to be able to operate independently and be able to spend time close to key customer organisations, whilst working with the rest of the German team in the Hamburg area and the wider Defence & Government team in the UK and Europe. We expect from you strong customer focus and commercial awareness, strong customer relationship skills by telephone, email and face to face are essential.

To support the company’s significant growth in the strategically significant German market the company is now seeking an ambitious, committed employee to join our Government and Defence Team in Germany.

 

Key Tasks:

  • Manage some existing accounts, ensuring we maximise any scope for growth and ensuring we maintain / grow their future business.
  • Identify new customers to approach and look at ways we can win their business
  • Ensuring all clients, existing and new are fully briefed on our portfolio of products including hardware, solutions, airtime, projects, parts and services.
  • To provide sales support for specified customers to ensure that sales requests from these customers are handled professionally and quickly in order to meet the customer expectations.
  • Build on our existing relationships with partners and suppliers, to help bring solutions to solve customer needs to mutual benefit.
  • To ensure that sales orders and service issues brought into the company are handled smoothly and the customer is kept informed at all times of the latest delivery/service issue resolution.

We are an international operating group of companies with offices around the world. Whilst the location for this role is Germany and the main focus is DACH (German, Austrian and Swiss) Defence business and working with the German team, English is our major communication language across the wider NSSLGlobal Group.

Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must hold or be eligible to gain German Security Clearance Ü2
    Must have had experience working with German Armed Forces
    Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    German and English language essential to be able to communicate with head office and other subsidiaries
    Experience working in an international company with international outlook on business
