We’re thrilled to announce that NSSLGlobal’s innovative FusionIP has made the shortlist in the 2019 Smart4Sea Awards in the Connectivity category, with the winners being decided through a public online vote ending on 21st December. The award ceremony, which is set to take place on 29th January 2019 in Athens, will recognise the organisation that has made a significant achievement, breakthrough or contribution with respect to ship connectivity – and our FusionIP solution does just that! We’re hoping that everyone will take a few seconds to support our shortlisting.
FusionIP is a unique, all-in-one unified communications solution that combines VSAT and cellular connectivity within the same device. FusionIP integrates the best of both LTE and satellite broadband within a single 60cm dome, providing ships with a seamless and entirely automatic transition between 4G/3G and satellite networks to achieve optimum data speeds and cost efficiency. It’s proving a hit with vessels that sail along coastal areas and want to take advantage of faster cellular options while paying a single monthly fee.
This innovation represents a leap forward in convenience, providing maritime companies with an easy to install solution and a global “one SIM, one contract” package with speeds of up to 100Mbps.
The potential of FusionIP has been recognised by many reputable shipping companies, including German-based ship management company Hermann Lohmann Bereederungen (HLB). HLB replaced the on-board communications systems on all of its existing maritime vessels with NSSLGlobal’s FusionIP service. Off-shore operators Wind Energy Marine have also chosen FusionIP for their fleet of Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) servicing the wind farming energy sector.
We’ve even taken into account the needs of yacht owners who’ve paid a premium for sleek vessels and don’t want multiple unsightly satellites ruining their streamlined appearance. The two antennas are housed within a unique single protective radome using only two coaxial cables, designed and engineered especially for this product. Sometimes it’s not only about the practical operational benefits - a solution also needs to look at how and where it will be used
At NSSLGlobal, we’re constantly striving to innovate and create differentiated products and services that enable customers to get the optimal connectivity they need at an affordable rate. The nomination follows on from FusionIP’s success earlier this year at the VSAT Stellar Awards in the Most Innovative Satellite Application category, so we’re honoured to be shortlisted for another industry award.
We’d be grateful if you could get behind us and help crown FusionIP the winner in the Smart4Sea Connectivity 2019 category! Voting is now open and closes on 21st December. Please click here to cast your vote on the Smart4Sea website – it only takes one click to support us!
